Xi’an, formerly known as Chang’an and Haojing, is a sub-provincial city that serves as the capital of Shaanxi Province, and a National Central City in Northwest China. It was also identified by UNESCO as a Famous World Ancient City in 1981.<\/p>

Xi’an is China’s best tourism destination and one of the county\u2019s National Civilized Cities. Cultural relics spread over six locations have been listed as two World Cultural Heritage sites, including the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor and the Terracotta Warriors, Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, Small Wild Goose Pagoda, Daming Palace National Heritage Park (Tang Dynasty), Weiyang Palace Relics (Han Dynasty) and Xingjiao Temple Pagoda.<\/p>

Xi’an is also called the “City of Food”, with a dazzling array of local snacks. Rou jia mo (marinated meat in baked buns), Pita Bread Soaked in Lamb Soup and liang pi (cold rice noodles) are famous and popular Shaanxi snacks.<\/p>

Qin Shi Huang Terracottan Warriors and Horses Museum 1 , 2 , 3<\/strong>\u00a0(2.5 hr Tour)
Some farmers happened to dig up what turned out to be a large-scale pit with terracotta soldiers and horses, belonging to the Emperor Qin Shi Huang, or the Founding Emperor of the Qin. After 2,200 years, the Emperor’s tremendous army stood as though living again before people’s eyes. The figures that the farmers found were around the size of real people. The pit was in Shaanxi Province, Lintong County, Jiangzhai xichang Village. It was around three Chinese li, or roughly one mile, from the east side of the Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s tomb mound. The Chinese Cultural Relics Administrative Department immediately organized its forces and carried out an investigation. After further excavation they actually found that the area of the discovery was a great deal larger and that inside this area were buried some 6,000 terracotta figures of horses and soldiers. After this, archaeologists discovered a second and third pit of horses and soldiers: the first discovery was called #1 pit, nearby in test excavations they discovered pits #2 and #3. Linked together, the three pits covered an area of 20,000 square meters and included around 8,000 figures.<\/p>

After lunch, continue our sightseeing tour and visit\u00a0Shaanxi History Museum<\/strong>\u00a0– Situated on Xiaozhai East Road on the northwest side of Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the Shaanxi History Museum is the first modern national museum. It was built in 1983 and opened to the public in 1991. It covers 65,000 square meters (16 acres), of which 11,000 square meters (207 acres) belong to the exhibition halls and 8,000 square meters (about 2 acres) are used as warehouses for storing relics. Now 370,000 exhibits in the museum vividly show the history of over a million years from prehistoric times (1,150,000 years ago – 21st Century BC) to about 1840 AD.<\/p>

We will end the day in\u00a0Lotus Garden of Tang Dynasty<\/strong>.
Lotus Garden of Tang Dynasty also called Tang paradise ,is the largest tourist program in north west China, It covers an area of 165 acres,and it is established with an investment of 1.2 billion Yuan.Located to the north of original Tang Dynasty Lotus Garden site the present Tang Paradise is the first Theme park fully demonstrating the charm and grandeur of royal garden in Tang Dynasty. Now it become one of the most famous sight-seeing spots in Xian.<\/p>

Continue our sightseeing to Grand Hukou Waterfall<\/strong>. The Hukou Waterfall is the largest waterfall on the Yellow River, China, the second largest waterfall in China(afterthe Huangguoshu Waterfall), is located at the intersection of Shanxi Province and Shaanxi Province, 165 km (103 mi) to the west of Fenxi City, and 50 km (31 mi) to the east of Yichuan. The Hukou Waterfall exists where water in the middle reaches of the Yellow River flows through Jinxia Grand Canyon. The width of the waterfall changes with the season, usually 30 metres (98 ft) wide but increasing to 50 m (164 ft) during flood season. It has a height of over 20 m (66 ft). When the Yellow River approaches the Hukou Mountain, blocked by mountains on both sides, its width is abruptly narrowed down to 20 m (66 ft) – 30 m (98 ft). The water’s velocity increases, and then plunges over a narrow opening on a cliff, forming a waterfall 15 m (49 ft) high and 20 m (66 ft) wide, as if water were pouring down from a huge teapot. Hence it gets the name Hukou (literally, “flask mouth”) Waterfall. Just below the waterfall, there is a shining stone BUS Jingbian called guishi (\u9b3c\u77f3). What makes the stone mysterious is that it moves up and down according to the water level. No matter how large the water volume, it is still at least partly visible.<\/p>

Next keep driving to Jingbian city. We will end our day with dinner at local restaurant.

In the morning we will go to visit the\u00a0fortifications of Xi’an<\/strong>\u00a0also known as Xi’an City Wall, an ancient capital of China, represent one of the oldest, largest and best preserved Chinese city walls. It was built under the rule of the Hongwu Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang as a military defense system. It exhibits the “complete features of the rampart architecture of feudal society”. It has been refurbished many times since it was built in the 14th century, thrice at intervals of about 200 years in the later half of the 1500s and 1700s, and in recent years in 1983. The wall encloses an area of about 14 square kilometres (5.4 sq mi). The Xi’an City Wall is on the tentative list of UNESCO’s World Heritage Site under the title “City Walls of the Ming and Qing Dynasties”. Since 2008, it is also on the list of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage of the People’s Republic of China. Since March 1961, the Xi’an City Wall is a heritage National Historical and Cultural Town.<\/p>

Next, head to the Qian Mausoleum to see the\u00a0Zhanghuai Prince Tomb<\/strong>. The Qianling Mausoleum is a Tang dynasty (618\u2013907) tomb site located in Qian County, Shaanxi province, China, and is 85 km (53 mi) northwest from Xi’an,formerly the Tang capital. Built by 684 (with additional construction until 706), the tombs of the mausoleum complex house the remains of various members of the House of Li, the imperial family of the Tang dynasty. This includes Emperor Gaozong (r.649\u201383), as well as his wife, Wu Zetian, who usurped the Tang throne and became China’s only reigning female emperor from 690\u2013705. The mausoleum is renowned for its many Tang dynasty stone statues located above ground and the mural paintings adorning the subterranean walls of the tombs. Besides the main tumulus mound and underground tomb of Emperor Gaozong and Wu Zetian, there are 17 smaller attendant tombs or peizang mu. Presently, only five of these attendant tombs have been excavated by archaeologists, three belonging to members of the imperial family, one to a chancellor, and the other to a general of the left guard.<\/p>

Next have a tour to\u00a0Yuanjia Village<\/strong>. Yuanjiacun is located in the north of Liquan County.In 1993, founded agricultural trade and industry enterprise. The main food street area is known as Huimin Street or Muslim Quarter. It’s a main street with a few intersecting roads. So the Xi\u2019an Muslim Food Street is the collective name for a number of streets, including Beiyuanmen Street, North Guangji Street, Xiyangshi Street and Dapiyuan Street, and it has become a famous attraction of Xi\u2019an for its profound Muslim cultural atmosphere. Muslim Street or The Muslim Quarter, is a paved road with blue-gray flagstones and shaded by trees, along which the archaized stores of the Ming (1368-1644) and the Qing (1644-1911) dynasties are in line, and they’re all operated by the Hui ethnic people. A number of ancient architectural buildings are well-retained on the street, highlighted by Hanguang Gate of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), Xicheng Gate Tower Cluster of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the City God Temple (a Taoist temple) and the Grand Mosque, all of which contrast finely with one another. Though Muslim Street is regarded as a tourist scenic spot by foreigners, it’s actually considered a snack street by the locals, and is an ideal place for locals to kill time during a hot summer. As a matter of fact, what makes this Muslim Street a food street is unending lines of various restaurants and food stalls, some of which specialize in selling cakes, others in dried fruit or breads, and hordes of stalls selling barbequed meats on skewers. You would also see folks making candy \u2014 real time! Xi’an sweets make a great gift to take back home at approximately RMB 25\u201350 a pack depending on the type.<\/p>

Must-Try Dishes
One of the most famous dishes of Xi\u2019an is the roujiamo \u2014 marinated beef or lamb stuffed inside a freshly baked bun. Another traditional Uygur dish found here is the yangrou paomo \u2014 pita bread soaked in lamb soup. You can find a variety of soups here with all kinds of meats in them, including sheep blood. Then there’s the bean threads in Shaanxi flavoring and of course, the Xi\u2019an dumplings. Xi’an is also known for its cold noodles, which can be made from rice or from flour. On this street there are dozens of noodle stalls, where you can ask for cold noodle dish \u2014 you won’t regret it!<\/p>
